When we launched The DX: The Diabetes Experience in 2012, we had a very clear vision in mind: to build a place where people whose lives are touched by diabetes may be informed, inspired and empowered.
Over the last five years we’ve engaged knowledgeable voices in the diabetes world – from Certified Diabetes Educators® (CDEs*) and Registered Dietitians, to those living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and their families – to establish an authentic conversation about living with this sometimes demanding, often tricky disease.
Given the success of The DX, we’ve expanded the experience. We are proud to introduce TeamingUp for Diabetes. We know managing diabetes can be a challenge, with TeamingUp you’ll have a full team behind you. Along with the voices you’ve already gotten to know here, we have added TeamingUp Champions – people with diabetes – and TeamingUp Coaches – nurses who are trained in diabetes management.
TeamingUp offers the same high-quality stories and resources from our trusted sources. We are keeping focus on staying active and fit, even for those who don’t like exercise. We’ll continue to look at nutrition and how different kinds of food impact blood sugar, offering tips on enjoying diabetes-friendlier versions of favorites from breakfast and brunch to lunch and dinner. (Always consult your doctor before making any changes to your diet or exercise routine.) We’ll also cover dozens of diabetes basics, from A1C and BMI to skin care and storing supplies.
TeamingUp has additional tools and resources to help you:
- Talk to your doctor and manage your diabetes based on your needs
- Get answers to questions like why diabetes changes over time and what you can do about it
- Learn from the experiences of your TeamingUp Champions and Coaches through videos and interactive features.
At the end of this month we will automatically redirect all visitors of The DX to TeamingUp where you can find what you may be looking for.
We look forward to teaming up with you!
